If you are not already familiar with the use of LED, here are a few points to consider when making the transition from traditional types of lighting:

• Near 100% Efficiency.  By comparison, traditional (HID) lighting is about 35% efficient, so there is a 65% loss as heat and unused light. LED lights take advantage of high efficiency light spectrums, specific to the photosynthesis of plants and flowering, which reduces waste.
  
• Higher Yields. By use of the correct light spectrums, plants produce higher yields when compared to traditional lighting.
• Longer Life Span.  Typical LED grow lights have an average life span of between 50,000 and 100,000 hours, with negligible to zero degradation of the light quality. By comparison, traditional grow lights need replacement every 3,000-5,000 hours. That is an increase of up to 33 times longer life span.
  
• Less Heat Production. Traditional grow lights are HOT, and in many cases require expensive cooling systems and fans, to prevent damage to the plants.  This can also lead to increased watering needs due to evaporation, and in some cases even fire hazards.  By comparison, LED lights are only warm to the touch, causing no increase in watering requirements, no need for cooling systems, and no risk of fire.
• Electricity Savings. Most customers report an average of 50% savings or more on their electric bill after switching to LED.
• No Toxins in bulbs as with traditional HID lights.  A true GREEN alternative!
• No Need for Expensive, Bulky Accessories.  Ballasts, heat removal systems, reflectors, and fans can all be eliminated.
